According to Tesla employees, the company has informed workers on the Model Y and Cybertruck production lines at the Austin factory to stay home during the week of Memorial Day (May 26) in the United States. Workers say this break is unusually long, as the production lines were running normally at the same time last year. Workers say their schedules have become increasingly inconsistent since February. Some say they have been asked to go home early multiple times. Workers also say that in February, the Austin factory started reducing overtime hours. Management told them that if they continued to work overtime, they might face disciplinary action. Last month, there were reports that Tesla had lowered its production targets for the Cybertruck and had reassigned some workers away from the production line.
