Tesla Cybertruck production cut, Long Range battery pack discontinued.
Tesla Cybertruck owners can no longer purchase the extended range battery pack for $16,000. A Tesla customer service representative confirmed to the media that the accessory has been discontinued, and users who had previously paid a $2,000 deposit have received a refund. Originally, this additional battery was planned to be released in mid-2025. The battery would have taken up one-third of the Cybertruck's cargo space. Tesla delayed the release of the Cybertruck extended range battery pack in October and made the decision to cancel the accessory after reducing the originally estimated range by 40 kilometers. Speculation about further delays began last month when Tesla removed the battery pack from the Cybertruck's online configurator. Additionally, a recall application from March 20 showed that Tesla had delivered fewer than 50,000 Cybertrucks. Reports suggest that Tesla employees have also revealed that the company has reduced production of this pickup truck.
