According to the March labor statistics survey released by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on the 9th, real average wages per person decreased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year, continuing to decline for three consecutive months. The total cash wages, equivalent to nominal wages, have continued to increase for 39 consecutive months, but have not been able to keep up with the pace of rising prices, making it difficult for people to actually feel the effects of wage increases. Total wages increased by 2.1% to 3.08572 million yen. Specifically, scheduled wages, including basic wages, increased by 1.3% to 2.62896 million yen. Extra wages such as overtime pay decreased by 1.1% to 1.9683 million yen. "Special payment wages" such as bonuses and one-time payments increased by 13.9% to 2.5993 million yen. In terms of employment type, total wages for full-time regular employees increased by 2.7% to 3.99394 million yen, while wages for part-time workers increased by 1.8% to 1.10292 million yen.
