Sino-Russian Joint Declaration: Deepen investment cooperation, continue to consolidate comprehensive energy partnership.

On May 8th, China and Russia issued a joint statement on further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation in the new era between the two countries, on the occasion of commemorating the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The statement mentioned that in order to further promote mutual beneficial cooperation, both sides agreed to deepen investment cooperation, elevate the level of cooperation based on the new version of the "Outline for China-Russia Investment Cooperation Plan" and the agreement signed on May 8th, 2025, between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Russian Federation on the promotion and mutual protection of investments, and to create a fair, transparent, and predictable business environment. They will continue to strengthen the comprehensive energy partnership, support cooperation projects in the fields of oil, natural gas, liquefied natural gas, civil nuclear energy, coal, electricity, renewable energy, and others, and maintain stable operation of relevant cross-border infrastructure to facilitate energy transportation.
