On May 8th local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin met with reporters at the Kremlin in Moscow after their meeting. Xi Jinping emphasized that Russia is the country he has visited the most as President of the People's Republic of China, this being his eleventh visit to Russia. Tomorrow, I will attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in the Soviet Union, which will also be my second time attending this grand commemorative event in 10 years. The past 10 years have been a decade of great turmoil and change in the international situation, as well as a decade of great development and breakthrough in China-Russia relations. We have witnessed the continuous consolidation and deepening of mutual political trust between China and Russia, and the blossoming of cooperation in various fields. Faced with changes in the world, the times, and history, China and Russia must firmly grasp the direction of bilateral relations and the overall trend of human society development, cooperate comprehensively, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the development and rejuvenation of both countries and maintaining international fairness and justice. We must adhere to generational friendship and become true friends forged in steel. Eighty years ago, facing the aggression of militarism and Nazism, the people of China and Russia united in enmity against a common foe and fought side by side, writing a magnificent and moving chapter in history. The great friendship formed by the people of both countries in the crucible of blood and fire laid a solid foundation for the high-level development of bilateral relations. China and Russia must deepen political mutual trust, enhance strategic cooperation, and promote bilateral relations towards a more mature and resilient future. We must adhere to mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and be good partners in each other's achievements. From overcoming difficulties and transporting urgently needed supplies during the Second World War, to the current record high bilateral trade volume, the "high-speed train" of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Russia has traversed mountains and overcame obstacles, completing an extraordinary journey. China and Russia must continue to deepen practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen the material foundation of comprehensive strategic cooperation, continuously benefit the people of both countries, and inject stronger momentum into global development. We must adhere to fairness and justice, and be defenders of international order. China and Russia, as the main theaters of the Second World War in Asia and Europe, made decisive contributions to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and laid the foundation for the establishment of the post-war international order. As stabilizing, positive, and progressive forces in the international community, China and Russia must continue to stand together and resolutely uphold the international system centered on the United Nations and the international order based on international law, continuously advance the equal and orderly multipolarization of the world. We must adhere to solidarity and help each other, and be leaders in global governance. The future and destiny of the world should be jointly grasped by all countries, and the achievements of global development should be shared by all countries. China and Russia, as major powers in the world and important emerging market countries, both shoulder the noble mission of promoting the development of global governance towards a more just and equitable direction. Both sides must strengthen cooperation in multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the BRICS countries, adhere to true multilateralism, lead global governance in the right direction, and promote inclusive and sustainable economic globalization.
