The Ministry of Ecology and Environment and eight other departments recently issued the "Opinions on Further Optimizing the Environmental Regulation of Motor Vehicles", which made stricter regulations on the emissions of motor vehicles, especially trucks. The "Regulations" clearly stipulate the implementation of a differentiated periodic emission inspection system for trucks. Diesel trucks with a total weight of over 3.5 tons will be equipped with remote emission management onboard terminals and will be required to report relevant emission data to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Random checks on trucks will be included in daily monitoring and law enforcement inspection plans. Key inspections will focus on issues such as abnormal use of pollution control devices, abnormal operation of onboard emission diagnosis systems, unauthorized modification of pollution control devices, and excessive black smoke emissions. Vehicles found with problems and do not correct them in time or repeat offenses will be included in the key management list, and those committing illegal acts will be subject to administrative penalties according to law. In addition, the admission management of motor vehicle emission inspection institutions will be strengthened, and institutions with serious violations will have their inspection qualifications canceled in accordance with the law.
