Apple requests the US appeals court to stay the judgment in the Epic Games case.
Apple is demanding the federal appeals court in the United States temporarily stay key provisions in a judge's ruling that ordered Apple to immediately open up its lucrative app store to more competitors. In a filing submitted on Wednesday to the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, Apple said it would suffer irreparable harm if the April 30 ruling is not put on hold during the tech giant's legal challenge. Apple is fighting a ruling that found the company in contempt of a previous order in a 2020 antitrust lawsuit brought by online video game maker Epic Games. In its filing, Apple stated that the new ruling prevents the company from "exercising control over core aspects of its business operations."
