ExxonMobil signs agreement to supply Marubeni Corporation with low carbon ammonia.
ExxonMobil has signed a long-term sales agreement under which the company will supply approximately 250,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia annually from its production facility in Baytown, Texas, to Marubeni Corporation. Marubeni Corporation will, in turn, primarily supply these ammonia to the Kobe Power Plant. ExxonMobil stated that this Baytown facility is expected to be the largest of its kind in the world once operational. ExxonMobil added that the facility is expected to produce 1 billion cubic feet of hydrogen made from natural gas per day, with over 98% of the related carbon dioxide captured and safely stored underground.
