The Central Meteorological Observatory has upgraded and issued a yellow warning for severe convective weather: there is a possibility of tornadoes in some areas of northern Jiangxi.

From 08:00 on May 8th to 08:00 on May 9th, some areas in western Jilin, eastern Inner Mongolia, northern Shanxi, northern Hebei, western mountainous areas of Beijing, southern Shaanxi, southern Jiangsu, southern Anhui, eastern Hubei, eastern and southwestern Hunan, central-northern Jiangxi, and northern Guangxi are expected to experience thunderstorms with wind speeds of level 8 or higher, as well as hail. In some areas, such as southwestern Anhui, eastern Hubei, eastern Hunan, central-northern Jiangxi, and northeastern Guangxi, thunderstorms with wind speeds exceeding level 10 are possible, with maximum wind speeds reaching level 11 or higher. Tornadoes may occur locally in northern Jiangxi and other areas.
