Powell: Legislators "do not need my advice" to formulate fiscal policy.

Although Federal Reserve Chairman Powell acknowledged that the level of US federal debt is "on an unsustainable path," he did not offer any recommendations to Congress on the budget issue. Powell stated at a news conference on Wednesday, "I believe that Congress does not need my advice on how to formulate fiscal policy, just as we do not need their advice. Congress should find a way to get us back on a sustainable path."
