Before the FED's May decision statement was released, the US dollar index rose by 0.37%, the euro fell by 0.31% against the US dollar, the pound fell by 0.33% against the US dollar, the New Zealand dollar fell by 0.64% against the US dollar, and the US dollar rose by 0.73% against the Japanese yen. The S&P 500 index rose by less than 0.3%, the Dow rose by 290 points, an increase of 0.7%, the Nasdaq fell by 23 points, a decrease of 0.13%, the semiconductor index rose by 0.2%, and the banking index rose by 0.98%. Google Class A shares fell by 8.9%, Apple fell by 1.73%, and Tesla rose by 0.17%. The yield on US 10-year treasury bonds fell by 3.5 basis points to 4.283%; the yield on 2-year US bonds rose by less than 0.8 basis points, approaching the daily low of 3.7868%. Spot gold fell by 1.2% to $3388, while COMEX gold futures fell by 0.77% to $3397.
