The European Union is considering imposing sanctions on Litasco Middle East DMCC as part of a comprehensive new measure against the Moscow-based shadow tanker fleet. The company is the trading subsidiary of the Russian oil giant Lukoil PJSC in Dubai. Documents show that this would be the first time the West seeks to sanction a Litasco entity since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Its parent company Lukoil was the second largest Russian company selling crude oil to overseas markets last year.
