Report: Rapid development of solar energy in Malaysia, urgent need for quick follow-up on energy storage.

In March 2025, the average photovoltaic power generation on the Malaysian Peninsula met 8.3% of its early afternoon electricity demand, an increase of over 60% from the same period last year (5.1%). With the speed of photovoltaic construction, Malaysia should increase investment in energy storage facilities to prevent future curtailment of solar energy and maintain the reliability of the power grid.
