Hong Kong Monetary Authority: The credit conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises in Hong Kong remained relatively stable in the first quarter.

According to the Financial Management APP, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced the results of the "Small and Medium Enterprise Loan Survey" for the first quarter of 2025 on May 6. The survey shows that the credit situation of small and medium enterprises in Hong Kong is generally stable. Regarding the perception of small and medium enterprises towards the approval process of bank loans (i.e. difficulty level), excluding respondents who answered "no opinion/do not know", 75% believe that the attitude of banks towards loan approvals in the first quarter of 2025 is "no different" or "easier" compared to six months ago, higher than the previous quarter's 70%. 25% believe that the attitude of banks is "more difficult", compared to 30% in the previous quarter.
