The Department of Justice in the United States has stated that Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., illegally monopolized certain markets. Following a judge's ruling, Google should be forced to sell two businesses that help with website buying and selling and provide online advertising. The agency, in court documents filed on Monday night, stated that the company should be ordered to immediately sell its AdX advertising platform, and then "gradually" divest the services that help websites sell display ads. Google has not yet commented on this. In documents filed on Monday night, Google proposed that its advertising exchange platform seamlessly cooperate with competitors' technology, and install monitoring to ensure compliance for the next three years. The company stated that its proposal would alleviate any alleged harm, and that a remedy like the government's proposed divestment plan is not a feasible solution in this type of case.
