Tian Yan, the deputy director of the Health Commission of Guizhou Province and the director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, has been removed from office.

On May 6th, the Guizhou provincial government website released a notice regarding the appointment and removal of Gu Changhua and others. The notice stated that the Guizhou provincial government recently decided to dismiss Tian Yan from the positions of director of the Guizhou Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission. Prior to this, on April 23rd, the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision announced that Tian Yan, a member of the party group and deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Health Commission, and secretary of the party group and director of the Guizhou Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and was undergoing disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.
