According to the National Immigration Administration, during this year's May Day holiday, border control agencies nationwide facilitated the entry and exit of a total of 10.896 million Chinese and foreign nationals, with a daily average of 2.179 million people, an increase of 28.7% compared to last year's May Day holiday. The peak for entry and exit clearance occurred on May 3rd, with 2.297 million people passing through. Among them, Chinese residents accounted for 5.778 million entries and exits, an increase of 21.2% from the same period last year, while residents of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan accounted for 4.003 million entries and exits, an increase of 37.1%. Foreign nationals accounted for 1.115 million entries and exits, an increase of 43.1% from the same period last year. Among the foreign nationals entering China, 380,000 people entered under the visa-free policy, an increase of 72.7% from the same period last year. A total of 456,000 entries and exits of transportation vehicles were inspected, an increase of 18.1% from the same period last year.
