UBS: S&P 500 "Sell in May"!
According to the Wise Finance APP, after the release of this month's seasonal insights report by UBS analysts, a video program was recorded. In the program, it was pointed out that the S&P 500 index usually performs poorly in May, and the seasonal rule of "sell in May" still exists. This year, the S&P 500 index has fallen at the beginning of the year, making this rule more obvious. In terms of the U.S. dollar, May is the second best month for the broad U.S. dollar index, but the worst month for the pound and Australian dollar, and the second worst month for the euro; as for government bonds, the yield of U.S. Treasuries often peaks in May and then declines for several months, which goes against market consensus but is a long-term seasonal rule.
