The Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced that according to a special survey conducted by the comprehensive communication operator and the Shanxi Province Tourism Big Data Joint Laboratory, during the May Day holiday in 2025, the province received a total of 22.72 million domestic tourists, an increase of 22.40% compared to the previous year; total tourism spending reached 16.033 billion yuan, an increase of 27.61% compared to the previous year. During the May Day holiday, 80 key monitoring tourist attractions in the province received a total of 6.6875 million visitors, an increase of 12.55% compared to the previous year; total ticket revenue was 2.21 billion yuan, an increase of 7.58% compared to the previous year.
