Our country's first marine glacier aerial survey has been launched today, with survey points reaching altitudes exceeding 4700 meters.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Geological Survey Bureau will officially launch China's first marine glacier aerial survey in Chamdo, Tibet today to understand the development patterns and melting changes of marine glaciers, and to provide basic data support for natural resource management. The survey site is located at an altitude of over 4700 meters. Targeting the high altitude, low temperature, and large area characteristics of glacier areas, this survey has established an integrated technical system combining satellite remote sensing, helicopter airborne geophysical surveys, and ground-based comprehensive surveys to obtain information on the extent and thickness of glaciers, thus gaining an understanding of China's glacier resources.
