Brazilian Finance Minister Fernando Hadad stated that Brazil and the United States are negotiating terms of a tariff agreement. Hadad said on Sunday that he had conversations with US Treasury Secretary Benson on behalf of the region, as he believes that imposing tariffs on these countries due to trade deficits with the United States makes no sense. Hadad said, "The most important thing now is that we are negotiating terms for reaching an understanding." His trip was to discuss investments in data centers.
