May Day holiday travel in and out of Beijing reaches historic high, with the majority of travelers choosing to drive on the highway.

Reporters learned from the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission that during this year's May Day holiday, the overall transportation operation in Beijing was stable and orderly. In the first four days of the holiday, the total number of people entering and leaving Beijing reached 17.91 million, a 7% increase compared to the same period last year. The total passenger volume and the daily passenger volume on May 1st both reached new highs for the same period in history. The main mode of transportation is still self-driving on highways, accounting for over 60%.
