On May 5th, Meituan Travel released the 2025 "May Day" holiday consumption insight, showing that this year's "May Day" holiday tourism popularity reached a new high in nearly three years, with a 30% increase in tourism orders compared to the same period in 2023. The top 10 popular destinations are Nanjing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Beijing, Chongqing, Changsha, Luoyang, Wuhan, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The revenue from dining out by out-of-town tourists has increased by 189% compared to 2023. Compared to crowded popular cities, places like Tonglu County in Zhejiang, Huaining County in Anhui, Fengtai County in Anhui, and Xinhua County in Hunan have become popular choices for travelers. The booking volume of high-star hotels in county towns during the "May Day" holiday this year increased by over 80% compared to last year.
