Ctrip: Inbound tourism orders during the May Day holiday surged by 130%, with foreign tourists becoming enamored with "Chinese shopping" and agricultural culture.
On May 5th, Ctrip released a report showing that during this year's "May Day" holiday, the domestic cultural tourism market has shown a strong recovery, presenting a trend of "blossoming in multiple areas". Long-distance travel destinations have performed well, with ticket sales for attractions in Qinghai, Xinjiang, Ningxia and other places increasing by 1-2 times compared to the same period last year. Family trips with children and pets are growing in popularity. The self-driving tour market is seeing an increase in both volume and prices. Cruise trips are making a strong comeback, with Ctrip's bookings soaring by 120% compared to last year. The deep integration of national culture is empowering tourism, with a more than 30% increase in visitors to ancient towns. "Reverse tourism" is boosting rural tourism, with bookings for homestays in Xinjiang entering the peak season two months in advance.
