The daily passenger flow at Zhuhai Port hit a record high.
On May 2nd, the major border crossings between Guangdong's Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macau experienced a peak in cross-border travel. The Zhuhai Border Checkpoint inspected a total of 823,000 inbound and outbound travelers, setting a new record for the year and representing a 7.2% increase from January 18th, when 768,200 travelers were inspected. Compared to the same period last year, there was a 32% growth. This year, with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Art Festival, concerts, and other cultural and tourism activities, combined with initiatives like "two-way travel to the north," "one week, one trip," and "exemption from showing ID," the enthusiasm for cross-border travel has been continuously stimulated. On May 2nd, the Zhuhai Border Checkpoint inspected 169,000 mainland residents traveling to Hong Kong and Macau, and 133,000 Hong Kong and Macau residents entering the mainland, representing a 60% and 43% year-on-year increase, respectively. In addition, the number of "two-way travel to the north" reached 13,000 times, showing a significant 81% increase compared to the same period last year.
