Spot gold fell 2.4% this week, the Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index fell more than 3.5%, and New York copper futures fell 4%.
On Friday's afternoon in New York, spot gold remained roughly unchanged, trading at $3238.80 per ounce, with a cumulative decline of 2.43% for the week. Spot silver fell by 1.19%, to $32.0271 per ounce, with a cumulative drop of 3.28% for the week. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index closed down by 0.77%, at 179.38 points, with a cumulative decline of 3.56% for the week. COMEX copper futures rose by 1.47%, to $4.6980 per pound, with a cumulative decline of 4.00% for the week. Prices fluctuated at high levels on Monday and Tuesday, dropped on Wednesday, and have been fluctuating at lower levels since the end of Wednesday.
