Fitch Ratings: Non-farm report shows economic resilience rather than economic downturn, the Fed will continue to stand by.
Fitch Ratings analyst Olu Sonola stated that this is a good employment report. The "R" displayed in the labor market in this report stands for resilience, not recession of course. Currently, given that trade policies may weigh on the economy, we should temper our enthusiasm for the future. The key information gleaned from the overall data this week is that the US economy had a strong fundamental in the first week of April, but the outlook remains very uncertain. The Federal Reserve will continue to stand aside until the labor market truly shows weakness.
