In April, Turkey's initial trade deficit widened to 12 billion US dollars.
According to data from the Turkish Ministry of Trade, Turkey's preliminary trade deficit in April expanded by 21.7% year-on-year to 12 billion US dollars. Preliminary exports increased by 8.5% year-on-year to 20.9 billion US dollars, while preliminary imports increased by 12.9% year-on-year to 33 billion US dollars. The trade deficit for January-April widened by 14.5% year-on-year to 34.5 billion US dollars. Germany was the largest export destination in April, while China was the largest export country to Turkey.
