Data from Fliggy shows that on the first day of the holiday, the scale of domestic car rental orders continued to grow strongly on a high base from last year, with the rental orders in cities such as Luoyang, Qinhuangdao, Jinhua, Taizhou, and Changzhou all increasing by over 100% compared to last year. Self-driving trips, which offer both flexible travel and high cost performance advantages, are continuing to release growth potential, with popular tourist cities and their surrounding "1-2 hour drive" niche destinations becoming the top choice for people to travel during the holiday. In terms of destinations, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Nanjing, and Changsha are the cities with the highest tourism heat on the first day of the holiday. Outbound travel continues to be popular following the Spring Festival and Qingming holidays. Fliggy data shows that on the first day of the May Day holiday, there was a surge in outbound travel demand, with the number of outbound travel ticket orders increasing by over 130%, and international cruise ticket orders increasing by a strong 149%.
