On the first day of the May Day holiday, the major ports connecting Hong Kong and Macau in Zhuhai, Guangdong welcomed a peak of cross-border tourists. According to statistics, the Zhuhai Border Inspection General Station inspected a total of about 700,000 inbound and outbound passengers and nearly 38,000 vehicles, an increase of 39% and 23% respectively compared to the same period last year.
