On the first day of the May Day holiday, the hot travel market has driven a peak in restaurant consumption. The latest data released by Meituan shows that on the first day of the holiday, popular dining venues in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou had online queues for over a hundred tables at tea shops, with some waiting for over a dozen cups of drinks. By around 1 PM, the platform's online orders for dining-in had reached a daily peak, with a 73% year-on-year increase in demand for snacks, fast food, and beverages.
