Conflicts continue in western Sudan, rapid support troops shell the capital's presidential palace.

On May 1st, local time, the Sudan Rapid Support Forces attacked the city of Nahud in the West Kordofan state of Sudan, engaging in a firefight with the Sudanese armed forces. Residents in several local neighborhoods could hear gunfire and explosions. According to local Sudanese media reports, on that day, more than 300 military vehicles of the Rapid Support Forces entered Nahud city from the northwest direction. They broke through several checkpoints, entered the city center, occupied government buildings, and released some prisoners. However, the Sudanese armed forces still control the eastern communities of Nahud city and the headquarters of the 18th Infantry Brigade. The Rapid Support Forces also looted property and vehicles in the market and communities, while also mistreating local residents.
