Meteorological drought yellow warning: severe drought in southern Shaanxi, western Henan, southern Jiangsu, and central Guangxi, among other areas.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continues to issue a yellow alert for meteorological drought at 18:00 on May 1st. According to the meteorological drought monitoring on May 1st, there is moderate to severe meteorological drought in most of Shaanxi, southern Shanxi, southern Hebei, most of Henan, most of Anhui, most of Hubei, central and southern Jiangsu, central and southeastern Guangxi, and central Yunnan. Some areas in the eastern southwest and south China are expected to receive moderate to heavy rain in the next 3 days, with locally heavy rain, which will be conducive to alleviating meteorological drought. However, most of the remaining drought-affected areas will continue to have little rainfall, and the meteorological drought will persist or worsen.
