For the first time globally, China's new generation of lunar laser corner reflector achieved daytime satellite laser ranging.
According to the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, on April 27, 2025, the research team of the "Tian Du Yi Hao" navigation technology test satellite successfully conducted a laser ranging technology experiment in the Earth-Moon space under strong daylight interference conditions. This is the first time in the world that satellite laser ranging has been achieved on the new generation of Earth-Moon space laser corner reflectors during the day, marking a new technological breakthrough for China in the field of precision measurement in deep space orbits.
