Aluminum producer Alcoa said on Thursday that its orders for the second quarter remained strong and it has not yet seen a decrease in orders related to US tariffs. It also pointed out that this week's power outage in Spain has brought risks to its business there. The cause of the recent power outages in Spain and Portugal this week is unknown, increasing the risk to Alcoa's San Ciprin aluminum plant in Spain. Alcoa currently has no plans to build any aluminum plants in the United States in the near future, as building an aluminum plant typically takes 5 to 7 years.
