Dropping 2-6 yuan per kilogram! Pork prices in Changsha fell slightly before May Day.
According to data released by the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province, last week, the average price of fresh pork was 27.96 yuan/kg, a decrease of 0.64% from the previous week. However, after the "May Day" holiday, pork prices may see a slight increase. Looking ahead, analysts at Zhuochuang Information believe that the short-term supply-demand situation is difficult to break, but pork prices may rise in the middle and late May. In May, the supply of medium-weight pigs is still insufficient, and historically, there is an intention to secondarily fatten pigs at the breeding end. With the current positive difference between fat and standard prices, some breeding ends may increase the weight of pigs in May, providing some support to the price. Moreover, downstream demand is expected to recover in May, which may collectively contribute to a slight increase in prices.
