Ford terminates the project to develop an electronic brain similar to Tesla's.
Insiders have reported that Ford has terminated a plan to develop the next generation electrical architecture. Ford executives had previously stated that this plan was crucial for competing with electric car pioneers such as Tesla. Ford had invested a significant amount of funds into this system, known internally as FNV4, to streamline automotive software functionality. The goal was to reduce costs, improve quality, and add profitable features in both electric and gasoline-powered vehicles. Sources say that due to cost overruns and delays, the project has been abandoned. A Ford spokesperson stated that the company will apply the lessons learned from developing FNV4 to existing software systems and will continue to focus on delivering advanced electrical architectures with the "skunkworks" team.
