The Sovereignty Council of Sudan issued a statement on April 30, stating that the chairman of the Sovereignty Council and commander of the armed forces, Burhan, had announced the decision to appoint Dafalla Haji Ali as Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Acting Prime Minister.
