On Wednesday (April 30), the New York spot price of gold at the close fell by 0.89% to $3287.77 per ounce. It had accumulated a 5.34% increase in April after falling to $2956.71 on April 8 and then rising continuously until April 22 when it reached a historic high of $3500.10 at 14:00 Beijing time. It then fell back to just $3300 and continued to trade around that level. COMEX gold futures fell by 1.04% to $3298.90 per ounce in April, with an overall increase of 4.64%, trading in the range of $2970.40-3509.90. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index closed up by 1.14% at 187.49 points in April, with a cumulative increase of 5.84%.
