State Council Taiwan Affairs Office: The Democratic Progressive Party authorities' so-called "equal dignity" is an attempt to change the principle that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China.
Spokesperson Zhu Fenglian of the Taiwan Affairs Office stated in response during a routine press conference on the 30th that as long as we adhere to the "1992 Consensus" and acknowledge that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China, the two sides can engage in dialogue and consultations. Denying the "1992 Consensus", deviating from the principle of one China, and plotting for Taiwan independence will make dialogue and consultations between the two sides impossible. The so-called "equal dignity" claimed by the Democratic Progressive Party authorities is an attempt to change the historical and legal fact that both sides belong to one China and to achieve cross-strait dialogue based on the "two countries theory", but their conspiracy will not succeed.
