During the May Day holiday, the number of passengers entering and leaving Qiongzhou Strait is expected to reach 490,000. In order to ensure the safe and efficient travel of passengers during the May Day holiday in the Qiongzhou Strait, the maritime department in Hainan conducted comprehensive inspections of all passenger ships planned to operate in the Qiongzhou Strait in advance, and innovatively applied the country's first modular inspection system for passenger ships. This year, during the May Day holiday, the Qiongzhou Strait will experience a small peak in passenger traffic entering and leaving the islands. According to the maritime department's predictions, the number of passengers entering and leaving the Qiongzhou Strait during the May Day holiday will reach 490,000, with 120,000 vehicles. In response to the characteristics of fixed route passenger ships, the maritime department in Haikou has transformed the traditional safety inspection model into a "ten-module" standardized system, covering key areas of the entire ship such as the bridge, radio equipment, life-saving and fire-fighting facilities, and engine power systems, achieving an upgrade from "extensive inspection" to "refined governance" for the first time.
