Hong Kong: A deficit of HK$ 80.3 billion was recorded for the fiscal year 2024/2025.

According to the Zhixun Finance APP, on April 30, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced the interim figures for the financial situation for the fiscal year 2024-25. The overall expenditure and revenue for the fiscal year 2024-25 were HK$753.2 billion and HK$564.9 billion respectively. After including the proceeds from issuing government bonds of HK$130 billion and repaying the principal of HK$22 billion government bonds, a deficit of HK$80.3 billion was recorded for this fiscal year. The interim figures show a decrease of 3% (HK$23.7 billion) in expenditure compared with the original budget, and a decrease of 10.8% (HK$68.1 billion) in revenue.
