Goldman Sachs dramatically lowered the first quarter Gross Domestic Product growth rate in the United States to -0.8%. Reports indicate that the United States' trade deficit in March further expanded to a record high of $162 billion. Among them, the U.S. imports of goods grew significantly by $16.3 billion to reach $342.7 billion. Meanwhile, U.S. exports of goods only saw a slight increase of $2.2 billion. Bill Adams, Chief Economist at PNC Bank, stated that unless there is a rapid change in the situation, the reduction in consumer disposable income and the decrease in business capital spending may continue to worsen in the second quarter.
