The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a routine press conference today. In response to the recent appearance of videos on some online new media platforms promoting so-called "shortcuts to Taiwan," spokesperson Zhu Fenglian of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council stated, "We are aware of the situation. It must be pointed out that mainland residents traveling to Taiwan should hold special documents, namely the 'Mainland Residents Traveling to and from Taiwan Pass' and the corresponding endorsements. We encourage and support normal exchanges and cooperation between people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, while reminding relevant individuals not to falsely claim to go to Taiwan through a third country, in order to avoid personal rights being violated and personal safety not being guaranteed. Internet users are advised not to believe, spread, or attempt to go to Taiwan through a third country for activities or sports events."
