It is estimated that the daily average traffic volume on national highways will be approximately 62 million vehicles, an increase of 8.1% compared to 2024. The peak traffic volume on highways is expected to occur on the first day of the holiday (May 1), reaching around 66.5 million vehicles, about 2.1 times the usual daily traffic volume. During the holiday, short-distance travel within provinces and long-distance travel between provinces will be intertwined, with a noticeable increase in inter-provincial travel compared to the Qingming Festival holiday. It is estimated that the daily average traffic volume of small passenger cars on national highways during the "May Day" holiday will be approximately 55.8 million vehicles, accounting for about 99% of passenger cars.
