Major stock indices in Europe closed higher.

The German DAX 30 index closed up 0.76% at 22,440.86 points. The French stock index closed down 0.10%, the Italian stock index closed up 1.07%, the banking index rose 1.34%, and the UK stock index closed up 0.60% at a preliminary level. The Danish stock index closed up 1.49%, and the Copenhagen 25 index rose by 0.67%.
