Medvedev: All new NATO members will automatically become targets for the Russian military.
According to a report from TASS on April 29, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that each new member of NATO automatically becomes a target of the Russian armed forces, "including potential retaliatory strikes, even including nuclear elements." Medvedev said, "Considering their geopolitical position and many other factors, non-aligned policies have given them certain additional international privileges. Now they have joined a group hostile to us, which means they automatically become targets of our armed forces, including potential retaliatory strikes, even within the framework of military principles of my country, including nuclear elements or preventative measures."
