A fire at a hotel in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province killed 22 people and injured 3. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Hao Peng, stated that the cause of the accident should be investigated as soon as possible.

On April 29th at 12:25, a fire broke out at a restaurant in Baita District, Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. After the accident, the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attached great importance to it. The Provincial Party Secretary, Hao Peng, made instructions immediately, demanding full efforts to rescue the injured, actively provide comfort and assistance to the families of the casualties, quickly determine the cause of the accident, and hold those responsible accountable according to law. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Governor, Wang Xinwei, made specific demands for the rescue work of the accident. Wang Jian, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor, and Wang Libo, Vice Governor, were dispatched by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to the scene to command the disposal. Relevant leaders from the province and city organized firefighting and rescue, treatment of the injured, and post-accident management teams at the scene, mobilizing 22 fire engines and 85 firefighters to quickly extinguish the fire, conduct search and rescue operations, evacuate the surrounding residents in a timely manner, and dispatch provincial and municipal experts to provide full assistance to the injured. At present, the on-site rescue work has been completed, and the accident has resulted in 22 deaths and 3 injuries, with the injured in stable condition. Relevant follow-up work is still ongoing.
