Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Cui Dongshu, posted on his personal WeChat public account stating that the world's car sales reached 8.75 million units in March 2025, a 5% increase year-on-year. Compared to the peak in March 2018, car sales in March 2025 decreased by 5%, reaching the median level of previous years. From January to March 2025, car sales reached 22.64 million units, a 5% year-on-year increase. China accounted for 33% of the world's car sales in January-March 2025, with the lower sales at the beginning of the year being a normal reflection of the Spring Festival factor. With the effects of policy stimulus becoming apparent, the Chinese car market has started to strengthen since March.
