Nkang Resource's Chu Mei Bu smelter in Namibia has started a multi-metal recycling project.

According to the China Minmetals News, on April 28th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chu Mei Metallurgical Plant's multi-metal recycling project was held. This project focuses on the development of strategic metals such as germanium, gallium, and zinc, with a total planned investment of 223 million US dollars. The design capacity is to process 200,000 tons of slag per year, and once completed, it is expected to produce 33 tons of germanium ingots, 11 tons of industrial-grade gallium, and 10,900 tons of zinc ingots per year.
